Building Facility Use Information

Several facilities are available for public use in School District 6 schools and buildings. These include classrooms, gymnasiums, practice fields and more. The fees associated with using facilities vary, depending on the type of organization or business, length of use, required equipment, etc.

At the bottom of this page you will find a link to the updated building use fee schedule taking effect September 1, 2018. In the Forms section of this page you will find the link to the District Facilities Use Form.

Policy 4330 and 4330P guides the use of rental of facilities in the district. It shall be the policy of the Board of Education to encourage the greatest possible use of school buildings for community-wide activities which do not otherwise conflict with school related academic and recreational programs and activities.

This is meant to include informal groups as well as formally recognized civic, social and recreational organizations. Groups wishing to use the school facilities must secure approval through this program two (2) weeks prior to the scheduled event from the Building Principal and abide by the rules and regulations established for such use. They must also abide by the fee schedule adopted by the District for facilities usage. The Superintendent, at his/her discretion, may consult with the Board prior to approving a request for use of school facilities. The Building Principal maintains the flexibility to waive fees to improve offerings for SD6 students and school community.

Looking for Space and/or Requesting Space:

1. You must complete the SD6 Application/Agreement for Facility Use before any dates can be considered.

2. Print and read the Rental Policy for School Facilities Use and the SD6 Rules and Regulations Governing Use of School Facilities located on the back of the Application/Agreement. You agree that you have read and will comply with all conditions in these documents when you sign the SD6 Application/Agreement for Facility Use.

3. The agreement/application may not be accepted later than ten business days prior to the event. Such agreement/application must be complete including setup needs when received by SD6.
